An ECU remap for Algeciras drivers starts well before the laptop is plugged in: it starts with looking at the car. At SRM Performance in La Línea, we check the engine before touching the software.
If you live in Algeciras and drive the A-7 every day, towards Los Barrios, San Roque or Estepona, you'll know the feeling of a diesel running out of puff as you pull out behind a port lorry. A well-written map on a turbo engine, diesel or petrol, is usually felt exactly there: more shove from low revs and easier overtakes. On cars like a Golf GTI, a Cupra León or a six-cylinder BMW, it changes the whole character of the car.
Before loading anything we read stored faults, check plugs, coils and vacuum lines, and look at the clutch. We save a copy of the factory software so there's a record of how the car arrived. Then we load the agreed map and test it while logging engine data.
We also write pops and bangs maps on request, making it clear they add noise and can cause problems at the ITV. Keeping the car road-legal is the owner's responsibility.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a remap cost?
It depends on the car and engine. Send us the make, model, year and engine on WhatsApp and we'll quote.
Will a remapped diesel use less fuel?
It depends a lot on how you drive. With a light foot you may notice a little, but we won't sell it to you as guaranteed savings.
Can I go back to the original software?
On most cars, yes, because we save a copy before changing anything.
Does a remap affect the ITV or my insurance?
Changing engine output can affect the ITV and emissions rules, and you should tell your insurer. Keeping the car legal is the owner's responsibility. If needed, we can help with the ITV and homologation.
