A custom exhaust for Algeciras has to answer two questions: how you want the car to sound, and how long the metal will last by the sea. At SRM Performance we fabricate exhausts in our La Línea workshop, in stainless steel and aluminium, TIG-welded.
Between the levante, the humidity and the salt, standard mild-steel exhausts don't last long around the bay. We see it often: rear boxes rotted through, clamps holding nothing, centre sections snapped. Sometimes replacing one section is enough. Other times it's worth building a new one in stainless, which lasts years longer.

Everything is built to your spec, and we'll tell you beforehand that a louder exhaust or one with valves can affect the ITV and noise rules. Keeping the car road-legal is the owner's responsibility.

About 20 km on the A-7 round the bay. If the exhaust is hanging or blowing, secure it as best you can and drive over gently: it's about 20 minutes by car. Time in the workshop depends on the car and the job; we'll tell you when we quote.

Frequently asked questions
Is a stainless exhaust worth it if I live near the sea?
Around the Bay of Algeciras, usually yes. Stainless copes with salt air far better than standard steel, so you won't be replacing it every few years.
Can you replace just the back box?
Yes. If the rest of the system is sound, we replace or fabricate only the section that needs it.
How much does a custom exhaust cost?
It depends on the car, the material and how much of the system we're building. Send us photos and we'll quote.
Will it pass the ITV?
It depends on the exhaust. A louder system or one with valves can cause problems. We explain this up front, and keeping the car legal is the owner's responsibility. If needed, we can help with the ITV and homologation.
