GIBRALTAR · OVER THE FRONTIER
The performance garage for Gibraltar drivers, 5 minutes over the frontier
A car mechanic and garage for Gibraltar drivers, just across the border in La Línea de la Concepción. Everyday repairs and servicing, custom exhausts, TIG fabrication, ECU remaps and air suspension, all about 2 km from the frontier. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll tell you when to bring it over.
From the frontier to the workshop
Once you're through the Spanish side of the frontier, you're in La Línea, and the workshop is roughly 2 km away by road. It's a short town drive with no motorway involved, about 5 minutes in normal traffic. If you leave the car with us and head home on foot, the walk back to the frontier takes around 35 minutes on flat pavement. The map shows the route both ways, and we'll send you a pin on WhatsApp when you book so you're not hunting for the door.

How it works if you're coming from Gibraltar
01
Message us on WhatsApp
Send the make, model and year, what's wrong or what you'd like done, and a photo or short video if there's a noise or a warning light. We'll reply in English with what we think it is and a day to bring it in, and we quote once we've seen the car or the photos.
02
Drive over
No passport checks at the frontier now, so just drive straight over and follow the pin to the workshop. It's a few minutes from the crossing.
03
Drop the car and talk it through
We look at the car with you, agree what's being done and confirm the price before any work starts. If we find something else once the car's apart, we stop, send you photos or a video, and wait for your go-ahead.
04
Walk back across
Rather than waiting around, the simplest option is to head back over the border and get on with your day. We can drop you back at the frontier, or it's about a 35-minute walk.
05
Collect when it's ready
We message you when the car's finished, with a summary of what was done. Come back over, pay, and drive home. If you'd rather not make the trip, we can collect and deliver the car from Gibraltar too; the price depends on where you are, so ask on WhatsApp.
Crossing over with your car
The frontier between Gibraltar and La Línea is no longer a checkpoint. With free movement between Gibraltar and Spain there are no passport checks on the land crossing, so you can drive straight through in either direction, and the long queues that used to shape the trip are largely a thing of the past.
That puts the workshop a few minutes’ drive from most of Gibraltar. You can bring the car over before work, leave it with us, walk back across, and collect it the same way when it’s ready.
As on any road in Spain, keep your driving licence and the car’s documents with you, and make sure your insurance covers you on Spanish roads.
- No passport checks on the land crossing: drive straight over
- Traffic at the frontier is now mostly light, at any time of day
- Carry your driving licence and the car’s documents, as on any Spanish road
- Check your insurance covers you for driving in Spain
- Leaving the car? It’s about a 35-minute walk back to Gibraltar
Gibraltar-plated cars
Gibraltar-registered cars are mechanically the same as any other car, whether they're right-hand or left-hand drive. A Golf is a Golf and a 911 is a 911. Parts come from the same suppliers whatever the plate, and we can order genuine, OEM-quality or performance parts depending on what you want. If a part is specific to a UK or Gibraltar-spec car, we'll tell you up front if it needs longer to arrive.
Your paperwork stays your paperwork. We don't change anything about how the car is registered, and we give you an itemised invoice for your records. We also prepare Gibraltar cars for the MOT: we look the car over beforehand and sort the usual failure points, such as brakes, tyres, lights, suspension joints and warning lights.
To be clear: we're a garage in Spain, and we don't carry out or issue the Gibraltar MOT. That's done in Gibraltar. What we can do is make sure the car turns up in good shape. The same goes for modifications. Exhausts, cut-out valves and remaps are built to your spec, and keeping the car legal for the MOT, the ITV or the road is the owner's responsibility, so ask us before you commit if that's a concern.
Pricing and payment
We price in euros, and you'll have the price agreed before any work starts. We accept pounds sterling, though euros are preferred. You can pay by cash, card, bank transfer or Bizum.
You get an itemised invoice listing parts and labour separately, so you can see where the money went, and we can give it to you in English. Parts prices depend on the car, so for anything beyond routine work we'll quote once we know exactly what's needed.

What we do for Gibraltar cars
If you've been looking for a car mechanic in Gibraltar, a short trip over the border opens up everything we do in La Línea. On the everyday side that means car repair and car service work: routine servicing between MOTs, diagnostics, timing belts, clutches and engine swaps. On the performance side it's ECU remaps and pops and bangs maps, custom exhausts and downpipes in stainless and aluminium, TIG fabrication, and air suspension and lowering kits. We work on all makes, with plenty of time spent on VAG group cars, Mercedes and AMG, BMW, Porsche and Jaguar. Pick a service or a brand below for the details.

Questions from Gibraltar drivers
How long does it take to get from Gibraltar?
The workshop is about 2 km from the frontier, roughly 5 minutes' drive once you're through. With no passport checks at the frontier now, you can drive straight over.
Can I wait at the workshop?
You can, but we don't really recommend it. It's usually better to leave the car with us: we can drop you back at the frontier, or it's about a 35-minute walk (5 minutes by car), and we'll message you when it's ready. We don't offer a courtesy car.
Do you speak English?
Yes. We speak Spanish and English, and you can write to us in English on WhatsApp, and we'll explain the work in plain terms before we start.
Do you work on Gibraltar-registered cars?
Yes. A Gibraltar-plated car is mechanically the same as any other, right-hand or left-hand drive, and we work on all makes. Parts are sourced the same way and nothing about the car's registration changes.
Can I pay in pounds?
Yes, we accept pounds sterling, though we prefer euros, and our prices are in euros. You can also pay by cash, card, bank transfer or Bizum.
Do you do MOT prep for Gibraltar cars?
Yes. We prepare the car and sort the usual MOT failure points before the test, but we don't carry out or issue the Gibraltar MOT itself. That's done in Gibraltar.
Can I leave the car and walk back to Gibraltar?
Yes. The walk from the workshop to the frontier is around 35 minutes on the flat. We can also drop you back at the frontier, and we'll message you when the car's ready.
How do I book?
Message us on WhatsApp on +34 642 63 66 39 with the car's make, model and year and what you need. We'll reply with a day to bring it over, and we quote once we've seen the car or the photos.
Can you get parts for UK or Gibraltar-spec cars?
Yes. We order from the same suppliers whatever the plate. Most parts are shared across markets; where something is specific to a right-hand-drive or UK-spec car, we'll tell you if it needs longer to arrive.
Do you collect cars from Gibraltar?
Yes, collection and delivery from Gibraltar is possible. The price depends on where you are, so ask on WhatsApp and we'll quote it for you.
Do I need my passport to cross with the car?
No. There are no passport checks on the land crossing between Gibraltar and Spain now, so you can drive straight over. As on any Spanish road, carry your driving licence and the car’s documents, and make sure your insurance covers you in Spain.
Why use a car mechanic in La Línea for a Gibraltar car?
Because it's close and covers a lot under one roof. We're about 2 km from the frontier, so dropping a car off fits around a normal day, and the same workshop handles everyday repairs, fabrication and tuning.
