Driving route to the workshop
Marbella isn't short of garages. What's harder to find is one place that does the spanners, the TIG welding and the software, and tells you plainly what's wrong with the car before any work starts. That's why some owners in Marbella, Nueva Andalucía and Elviria are happy to make the run down the coast to La Línea.
Most of what comes to us from this end of the coast is performance-minded: Porsche 911s, Caymans and Macans, Mercedes-AMG 45 and 63 models, BMW M2s, M3s and M4s. These are cars that need more than a box-ticking service. They want a remap written for a healthy engine, a stainless exhaust built to measure with valves so you choose when it's loud, and someone who knows where each engine tends to give trouble.
The way people drive around Marbella leaves its mark too. Lots of short hops along the Golden Mile and into town, summer queues through San Pedro and Puerto Banús, and salty air off the seafront. A turbo engine that rarely gets properly warm, or brakes left sitting for weeks in an urbanisation garage while the owner is away, will eventually complain. We'd rather check the car over and quote first than surprise you later.

Is it worth driving from Marbella to La Línea for a garage?
It depends on the job. For an oil change you'll have options nearer home. For a remap, a custom exhaust, or a fault on a Porsche or AMG that nobody has managed to explain, a lot of people would rather make the drive to a workshop that does mechanics, fabrication and software in one place.

It depends on the car and the job. We'll tell you when we quote, so you can plan the trip from Marbella.

Will an exhaust or remap cause problems at the ITV?
It can. Modified exhausts, exhaust valves and pops and bangs maps can affect the ITV and Spanish noise and emissions rules. We build to your spec, but keeping the car legal is the owner's responsibility, and we'll explain what's involved before any work starts.
