BMW engines have well-known faults. The N54 in the 135i and 335i is notorious for high-pressure fuel pump failures and wastegate rattle. On the N55 and B58 in the M135i, M140i, 340i and M240i, the plastic charge pipe tends to split once boost goes up. The S55 in the F80 M3 and F82 M4 has its crank hub question, and the S58 in the G80 and G82 takes a lot of extra power, provided it's done properly. On the diesel side, the N47's timing chain sits at the back of the engine against the gearbox.

Roughly 75 km west: A-7 or AP-7 past Sotogrande, then the La Línea turn-off at San Roque. Allow about 55 minutes. In an M car, the AP-7 is the easier run.

Can you remap my M2 or M140i?
Yes, they're among the engines that respond best to a remap. We check the car first and recommend replacing the charge pipe if it's still the original plastic one.
My BMW is leaking oil. Is it serious?
Often it's the oil filter housing or rocker cover gasket. Not serious if caught early, but oil can reach the auxiliary belt or exhaust, so it's worth looking at soon.
