Twin carbon exhaust tips on a red sports car

Custom exhaust for Marbella drivers

You'll hear a custom exhaust on a Marbella car before you see it come round the corner in Puerto Banús. At SRM Performance in La Línea we make them ourselves in stainless steel and aluminium, TIG-welded, rather than fitting an off-the-shelf system and hoping it lines up.

Building to measure means every part is a decision: pipe diameter, where the silencers go, whether there's a resonator, how the tailpipes exit, and whether it has cut-out valves. Valves are what Marbella owners ask for most: quiet enough to leave the urbanisation at eight in the morning, then the proper sound once you're on the mountain road.

We also make downpipes and mid-sections, and repair factory exhausts that humidity and coastal salt have eaten away at the welds. If the new exhaust changes how the engine breathes, the software usually needs adjusting too, and we do that in the same place.

Every exhaust is built to your spec. Modified exhausts and cut-out valves can affect the ITV and noise rules in Spain, and keeping the car legal is the owner's responsibility.

Bringing the car from Marbella

About 75 km on the A-7 or AP-7 to the La Línea turn-off at San Roque, roughly 55 minutes. How long a custom exhaust takes depends on the car and the job; we tell you when we quote.

What we build

  • Full stainless systems

From the downpipe back to the tailpipes, built and TIG-welded for your car.

  • Cut-out valves

Valves to open and close the exhaust, so you decide when it's loud.

  • Rear silencer and tailpipes

Just the back section, for a deeper note without changing the whole system.

  • Exhaust repairs

Re-welding and replacing corroded sections on factory systems.

Frequently asked questions

How is it different from an off-the-shelf exhaust?

An off-the-shelf system is made to fit lots of cars. A custom one is built for yours, with the sound, bore and tailpipes you want.

What materials do you use?

Stainless steel and, for some parts, aluminium, all TIG-welded.

Will a valved exhaust pass the ITV?

It may cause problems. Keeping the car legal is the owner's responsibility. We can help with the ITV and homologation side.

How much does a custom exhaust cost?

It depends on the car, the section and whether it has valves. Send us photos of the underside on WhatsApp and we quote after seeing them.

Do I need a remap after a new exhaust?

Not always, but with bigger changes such as a downpipe you usually will. We'll tell you before we start.
