Performance garage for Mijas
We're a performance garage in La Línea de la Concepción doing tuning and fabrication for drivers from Mijas, La Cala de Mijas and Mijas Costa. At around 95–100 km away, we'll be straight with you: it's worth the drive for specialist work, not for a routine service.

Driving route to the workshop
Mijas covers a lot of ground. There's the old pueblo on the mountainside, and then the long coastal strip of La Cala de Mijas, Calahonda and the Mijas Costa urbanisations along the A-7. Spend any time in the car parks down there and you'll notice how much of it is VAG: Golf GTIs and Rs, Cupra Leóns and Formentors, Audi S3s and RS3s.
That's the group of cars we see more than any other. VAG's turbocharged petrol engines, the 2.0 EA888 in particular, take well to a remap, a downpipe and a properly made exhaust. They also have their well-known weak spots: thermostat housing and water pump leaks, carbon build-up on the intake valves of direct-injection engines, and mechatronic faults on some DSG gearboxes. Checking for all of that before we touch the tuning is where every job starts.
Now the honest bit. It's the best part of 100 km from Mijas to La Línea, and for oil, pads or a timing belt there are garages much closer to home; making the trip for that wouldn't be sensible. Where it does make sense is a proper performance project: a remap matched to the hardware on your car, a downpipe or exhaust fabricated in stainless and TIG-welded to measure, or air suspension fitted and set up correctly. That sort of job is done once and is worth doing right.
Everything is built to your spec, with the price agreed before we start. Modified exhausts, cut-out valves and pops and bangs maps can affect noise limits and the ITV or MOT; keeping the car legal is the owner's responsibility, and we'll talk it through with you beforehand.
What Mijas drivers usually come in for
VAG performance work: remaps for Golf GTI and R, Cupra and Audi S and RS models, custom downpipes and exhausts, DSG software tweaks where the car allows it, and lowering or air suspension.
Frequently asked questions
Is it worth driving to La Línea from Mijas?
For routine servicing, honestly, no; there are garages much nearer. For tuning, custom fabrication or a fault that's proving hard to find, it can be. Message us first and we'll tell you whether your job is one of those.
I've got a Golf GTI. What should be checked before a remap?
Plugs and coils, vacuum leaks, clutch and gearbox, and any coolant leaks, which are common around the water pump on the EA888. If it's all healthy, we'll talk about which map suits the parts fitted.
Can you remap the DSG gearbox too?
On many VAG cars the gearbox software can be adjusted to suit the new engine map. It depends on the model and the gearbox, so we'll confirm once we have your car's details.
Can I leave the car and come back another day?
Yes, though it depends on the job and how long it takes. Ask us about timing. To avoid two round trips, we can collect and deliver the car; the price depends on where you are. We don't have a courtesy car.
Do you build full exhausts or just individual parts?
Both: anything from a single downpipe or cut-out valve to a complete stainless system. Always to your spec, and we'll flag how it might affect the ITV or MOT.
