Let's be straight about it. Málaga is not short of garages. If your car needs an oil change, a set of brake pads or a once-over before its ITV, there will be someone perfectly good near you in Teatinos, El Palo or Churriana, and driving 130 km for that makes no sense.
Where the trip does make sense is the work most garages don't do. A custom exhaust, TIG-welded in stainless and made for your particular car, isn't something you pick out of a parts catalogue. A proper remap starts with checking the engine over, not just plugging in a laptop. A restoration that takes in bodywork, paint and mechanics needs time and people who know the car. That is what we do day in, day out in La Línea.
Most of what comes through the door is VAG group (Golf, Audi, Seat and Cupra), Mercedes and AMG, BMW, Porsche and Jaguar, though we work on all makes. We handle engine replacements and swaps, timing belts, clutches, air suspension, lowering kits, downpipes, exhaust cut-out valves and pops and bangs maps. Everything is built to the customer's spec, and keeping the car legal for the ITV, MOT and noise and emissions rules is down to the owner.

Is it really worth driving from Málaga to La Línea?
For routine servicing, no: a local garage will be far more convenient. It's worth it for specialist work, such as a custom exhaust, a remap, stainless or aluminium fabrication or a restoration, or when you want to get several jobs done in one visit.
Can I leave the car and head back to Málaga?
Yes. Fabrication and restoration jobs often take more than a day, and we'll agree how long the car will be with us before we start. We don't have a courtesy car, but we can collect and deliver the car. The price depends on where you are, so ask us for one.
Can you quote without seeing the car?
Send us the make, model, year and engine on WhatsApp, plus a few photos if it's exhaust or bodywork. That's usually enough for a rough idea, and if we do need to see the car we'll arrange a day so the trip isn't wasted.
Will an exhaust or a remap cause problems at the ITV or MOT?
It can. A modified exhaust, a cut-out valve or a pops and bangs map can affect the ITV in Spain, the MOT in Gibraltar and noise and emissions rules. We build to your spec and explain what that means, but keeping the car road legal is the owner's responsibility. We can also help with the ITV and homologation paperwork.
