Straight-sixes, turbos and M cars: that's usually why people in Teatinos, El Palo or Churriana go looking for a BMW mechanic for Málaga who knows these engines properly. We're in La Línea, about 130 km away, so we're not the answer for your 1 Series oil change. For the rest, we might be.
BMWs reward well-judged tuning. An M140i or M240i with the B58 takes a sensible remap very well. A 335i with the N54 has its well-known quirks, such as the high-pressure fuel pump and wastegate rattle, and those want checking before you ask it for more. The M3s are a story of their own: the E46's S54 and the E92's S65 V8 are known for rod bearing wear, and the F80's S55 for its crank hub once the power goes up.
We also build custom exhausts and downpipes, with valves if you want them, so a straight-six sounds the way it should without droning all the way down the motorway. And if your BMW is a diesel daily, the N47 is known for timing chain trouble, with the chain tucked away at the back of the engine.

Driving route to the workshop
The run from Málaga
It's about 130 km to La Línea, roughly an hour and 40 minutes by car. The quickest way is the AP-7 towards Algeciras, tolled on several stretches, or the free A-7 if you're not in a hurry. Take the San Roque turn-off for La Línea. If you'd rather not drive it down, collection and delivery is possible, priced on request depending on where you are.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to remap an N54?
It responds well, but it has known weak points: the high-pressure fuel pump, injectors and wastegates. We check those first and tell you if anything needs sorting before we touch the software.
Do you do rod bearings on M3s?
It's one of the best-known jobs on the E46 and E92 M3. We do them. Message us with the mileage and the car's history.
Will a downpipe pass the ITV or MOT?
Changing the downpipe or exhaust can affect the ITV, the MOT and noise and emissions rules. We build it to your spec and explain what that means, but keeping the car road legal is the owner's responsibility.
Is it worth bringing my diesel 3 Series just for a service?
If it's only a service, probably not; there are garages much closer in Málaga. If you're also hearing a chain rattle or want a remap, that changes things.
