Seat is Spain's home-grown brand, and you can't move in Málaga for Leons and Formentors, so it's no surprise people look for a Seat and Cupra mechanic who goes a step further than servicing. In La Línea, about 130 km away, we tune them regularly: underneath, they share almost everything with the Golfs and Audis we see every day.
The third-generation Leon Cupra, in 280, 290 and 300 PS forms, runs the 2.0 TSI EA888 and takes a remap, downpipe and exhaust very well. Many also have a front limited-slip differential from the factory, which appreciates proper maintenance. The 4Drive versions of the Leon ST and Ateca use a Haldex coupling, with its own oil change that hardly anyone remembers.
In the Formentor VZ5 the heart is the RS3's 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder, and that's where a custom exhaust really earns its keep. On smaller cars, such as the Ibiza FR or a 1.5 TSI Leon, the work tends to be a livelier exhaust, lowering or a DSG service.
If your Cupra Born is electric, there's little for us to do on software or exhausts; for everything else, ask. And if your Seat only needs a service, a garage nearby in Málaga makes more sense.

Driving route to the workshop
From Málaga to the workshop
About 130 km, roughly an hour and 40 minutes by car. From Teatinos you're quickly onto the westbound motorway; from El Palo you'll have to cross town. Then it's the AP-7 or A-7 past Estepona and Sotogrande, turning off at San Roque for La Línea. If you'd rather not make the trip, collection and delivery is possible, priced on request depending on where you are.

Frequently asked questions
Can my Leon Cupra run a downpipe without problems?
Mechanically, yes, with the software set up to match. Legally, a different downpipe or exhaust can affect the ITV or MOT and noise and emissions rules; keeping the car road legal is the owner's responsibility.
What exhaust suits a Formentor VZ5?
One that lets you hear the five-cylinder without wearing you out on long runs. We'll talk it through and build it to measure, with a valve if you want a quiet setting for town.
Do you work on standard Seats as well as Cupras?
Yes. Ibiza, Leon, Arona or Ateca: mechanical work, clutches, timing belts and whatever else is needed. For a simple service, though, a garage near Málaga is the better bet.
How much is a Leon Cupra remap?
It depends on the version and what's fitted. Send us the year and power output and we quote after seeing the details.
