SERVICE 10 · BODYWORK AND PAINT
Bodywork and paint in La Línea
We do bodywork and paint in La Línea de la Concepción, a few minutes over the border from Gibraltar. From a scuffed bumper to rust repairs and full panel resprays, always quoted before we start.
What bodywork and paint covers
Bodywork is about getting the shape of the car right again: pulling out dents, repairing or replacing damaged panels, treating rust and leaving a sound surface. Paint is everything that follows: primer, flatting, colour and lacquer, matched so the tone and gloss sit with the rest of the car.
Good paintwork comes down to preparation. If the surface isn't clean, flat and properly primed, the finish can look fine on day one and start to fail a few months later with bubbling, orange peel or a visible change in shade. So we take the time it needs before any colour goes on.
Colour matching takes care too. Many modern colours are metallic or pearl, and the same paint code can vary between manufacturers and with years in the sun. We match against the car itself and, where it helps, blend into the neighbouring panels so the repair doesn't stand out.
Common jobs
These are the most common reasons a car comes to us for bodywork and paint:
- Car park knocks, dents in doors and wings, or a scraped bumper.
- Deep scratches that have gone through to the primer or bare metal.
- Rust in the wheel arches, door bottoms or around the windscreen.
- Lacquer peeling or burnt off by the sun, very common on roofs and bonnets down here.
- Painting individual parts such as mirror caps, splitters, spoilers or wheels in a different colour.
- Tidying a car up before selling it, or after buying one.
How we do it
STEP 01
Assessment and photos
We look at the damage in good light, check how far it goes and photograph it. If you send photos on WhatsApp first, we can give you an initial idea before you come in.
STEP 02
A clear quote
We explain what can be repaired and what's better replaced, and quote before we touch anything. If more turns up once parts come off, we tell you before carrying on.
STEP 03
Strip and repair
Trims, lights and anything in the way come off, the dent is worked out, rust is taken back to clean metal and, if needed, the panel is replaced.
STEP 04
Preparation
Filler only where it's needed, flatting, primer and masking of the rest of the car. It's the part you never see, and the part the finish depends on.
STEP 05
Colour and lacquer
Colour and lacquer go on in coats, matched to the car, with the drying time the products call for before it's polished.
STEP 06
Refit and handover
Everything goes back on, panel gaps and finish are checked in daylight, and you get the car back clean, with the repair shown to you.

Frequently asked questions
Will the colour difference show?
We match against the car itself and, where needed, blend into the panels either side so there's no visible line. Metallic and pearl colours need more care, and we'll explain that before we start.
What paint do you use?
We use automotive primer, colour and lacquer systems.
Do you have a paint booth?
Yes, we have a paint booth. Ask us and we'll explain how we'd handle your type of repair.
Is the paintwork guaranteed?
Yes, our work is guaranteed. If you notice any fault after collection, get in touch and we'll take a look.
Can you paint just one part, like a mirror cap or spoiler?
Yes. We paint individual parts, either in the original colour or something different, gloss black for example. Tell us what you have in mind.
