Ask a BMW and BMW M mechanic for Estepona about tuning and the useful answer isn't a horsepower figure, it's a question about your engine. An M140i, M240i or 340i with the B58 straight-six takes a good map in its stride. An M3 or M4 with the S55 needs more thought, because the crank hub is a well-known weak spot on that engine once torque goes up.
So we always start with the car's condition: oil leaks from the rocker cover and oil filter housing gaskets, the electric water pump, plugs and coil packs. All common on BMWs with some miles on them, and Estepona summers are long and hot.

Can you tune the ZF automatic gearbox on my BMW?
On many models the gearbox can be adjusted to suit the new map. It depends on the version and software, so send us the model and year.
What's the issue with the S55 crank hub?
On the S55 the crank gear is held by clamping force rather than keyed, and it's a known weak point when torque is raised a lot. We talk it through before remapping an M3, M4 or M2 Competition.
Can you fix the air suspension on my X5?
Yes. We check the air springs, compressor and lines, find the leak and give you a price before changing anything.
Can I fit an aftermarket exhaust to my M car and still pass the ITV?
That depends on the exhaust and how it's homologated. We'll build it to your spec, but keeping the car legal is the owner's responsibility.
