Audi mechanic for Sotogrande

Audi is VAG, and VAG cars are what we see most of in the workshop. So if you're after an Audi mechanic from Sotogrande, we know what sits under the bonnet well, whether it's an everyday A4 TDI or an RS that lives for the road up to Ronda.

Audi engines have some well-known habits. Second-generation EA888 2.0 TFSI engines can burn oil through their piston rings, and direct-injection engines build up carbon on the inlet valves as the years go by. The 4.2 FSI V8 in the B8 RS4 and RS5 is particularly prone to it. S tronic gearboxes need their oil changed on time, and the DQ250's mechatronic unit gives warnings you shouldn't ignore. On Haldex-based quattro cars such as the S3 and TT RS, the Haldex coupling needs servicing too.

On the performance side, the 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder in the RS3 and TT RS takes very well to a remap and a custom exhaust, and the 4.0 TFSI in the RS6 and RS7 has headroom to spare. We build to your spec and tell you up front what it means for the ITV.

Frequently asked questions

My Audi is using oil. Is that normal?

On some second-generation 2.0 TFSI engines it's a known problem, usually down to the piston rings. The first step is to measure the consumption and diagnose it properly before opening the engine.

How often does the S tronic oil need changing?

It depends on the gearbox. The wet-clutch DQ250 usually wants it roughly every 60,000 km. Tell us your model and we'll confirm.

Can you remap an RS3?

Yes, after a check-over. The 2.5 TFSI responds very well, but it asks more of the gearbox and clutch, and we'll explain that first.

Do you work on diesel Audis?

Yes, four- and six-cylinder TDIs. Servicing, repairs and remaps.
