Cupras have become a common sight on the roads round here in only a few years, and from Sotogrande we get both Leóns and Formentors. At SRM Performance, our La Línea workshop, Seat and Cupra are treated as what they are: VAG, the family of engines and gearboxes we see more than any other.
Under a Cupra León or a Formentor VZ there's a 2.0 TSI from the EA888 family and, nearly always, a DSG. That means the same things to keep an eye on as a Golf GTI: the water pump housing, gearbox oil on schedule and, on four-wheel-drive cars, the Haldex. The Formentor VZ5 is a different animal, with Audi's 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder, an engine with plenty of character and its own servicing needs. Older León Cupra 280, 290 and 300 models still make a cracking base for a build.
On an everyday Ibiza FR, Arona or Ateca we do the normal servicing. And if you want sharper response or a different sound, we do remaps and custom exhausts to your spec, explaining first what they mean for the ITV.

Sotogrande to La Línea
Pick up the A-7 southbound, go past San Roque and take the La Línea exit. About 20–25 km, about 26 minutes by car. We can also collect and deliver the car: ask us on WhatsApp, as it depends on where you are.

Yes, it has Audi's 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder. We service it and, if you'd like, tune it after a check-over.
Do you remap the Cupra León?
Yes, from the León Cupra 280 through to the current VZ. We check the engine and clutch first and explain what it means for the ITV.
My Seat Ibiza judders in auto. Can you look at it?
Yes. It's a familiar complaint on seven-speed dry-clutch DSGs. We diagnose it before replacing anything.
Can you service it while it's under warranty?
We service to the manufacturer's specifications. We stamp the service book and, generally, in the EU that keeps the manufacturer's warranty valid.
